Q. What are the requirements for running the UserTesting app on iOS?

A. You have a version of iOS 9 or higher, 400MB of free space when you try to take a test, at least 20% battery life, and one of the following devices:

  • iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, or SE

  • iPad 3, 4 or iPad Air or iPad Air 2

  • iPad Mini or Mini 2

To avoid upload problems, we strongly recommend that you connect to a Wi-Fi network when you upload your completed test.  Wi-Fi is faster and more reliable.

Q. How can I take a test using the UserTesting app on IOS?

A.  First, download and install the app.  Click here to learn how.

Once you have installed the UserTesting app, you can sign in to your mobile dashboard to see what tests may be available.  By default, your mobile dashboard will display all tests currently available for you to take on your iPhone or iPad.

For your convenience, tap Menu to view Tests for Other Devices such as your computer.

If you are interested in a test for your computer or other mobile device, sign in to that device to view the test.  If you're not interested, you can also decline tests that require a computer or other device from the All Tests view.

Q. I got a test on my computer dashboard that says I have to use the UserTesting app to take it.  What does that mean?

A. These tests can only be taken on a mobile device with the UserTesting app.  To take the test, install the app on your mobile device and log in.  The test will display on your mobile dashboard.

Q.  How do I navigate between the tasks and the test website or app?

A.  Here's a short video showing you how to navigate using the Task Button.

Q. How much will I be paid for tests that I complete with the UserTesting app?

A. Payment for a 15-20 minute recording is $10.  Why is this less than mobile webcam tests? We offer the additional $5 for webcam tests because they require more setup and in-test adjustments.

Q.  Will my face be recorded?

A.  No, we only record your screen, voice, and where you touch the screen.

Q. I accidentally exited the test, how do I get back into the app?

A. You can enter the test again by tapping on the red bar that appears at the top of your device screen, or by tapping on the UserTesting app from your home screen.
