Before participating in a moderated test, such as a Live Conversation, you'll need to download some additional software.
What programs do you need to participate in a moderated test?
You'll need to download and install one of two free programs: Zoom or GoToMeeting. In both cases it’s important to have the appropriate version downloaded and installed on your computer. Not having these programs set up before your moderated test will result in cancellation of payment and ineligibility for future special studies.
Why download and install?
The reason we require these programs to be installed is because only the installed versions allow you to do the following:
- Screen Share: In most cases, the researcher or moderator will ask you to share your screen so that they may observe your computer screen while you complete the instructed tasks and scenarios on your computer.
- Mouse and Keyboard Control : Often times the researcher may ask you to take control of their computer mouse and keyboard while you interact with new unreleased apps or website features that are in the works.
Simply having a web version or extension will not allow you to complete the tasks in a moderated test and may cause the test to be cancelled.
