As a UserTesting participant, you are never required to provide your sensitive personal information nor expected to use your credit card to purchase anything while completing a test.
The test requirements will describe the nature of the tasks you must complete and what, if any, personal information may be required. By accepting a test, you are confirming that you meet all of the stated requirements of that test. If you have determined that you do not meet the stated requirements or are not comfortable completing the requested tasks, you should click on the "Decline Test" link on your dashboard. You are not penalized in any way for declining tests.
If you're unexpectedly asked to provide personal information during a test, that was not specified in the requirements, please report a problem so that we can follow up with the customer. Additionally, customers should not ask you to enter your credit card information. If you encounter a test that requires you to enter your credit card information, report a problem and exit the test. We'll compensate you for the time you spent taking the test.
Some tests may ask you to provide a valid email address. To protect your personal information, we recommend creating a free email account (e.g., Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo) to use just for testing purposes. You can also use a fake mailing address. If you want to ensure that it's valid, look up a mailing address for a city office in your area and use this mailing address when testing.
