Uninstalling the UserTesting Browser Recorder
There are several different screen recorders that you may be asked to use as a UserTesting participant, depending on your device. Our UserTesting Browser Recorder lives directly in your web browser, so you don’t have to download anything special to your computer to use it. It also has a new look and feel so be sure to read through the article below to familiarize yourself with it.
System Requirements
PC
- Operating system: Windows 7, 8 or 10.
- Memory: At least 1 GB of total RAM and 600MB of available RAM.
- Free disk space: At least 7 GB of free disk space.
- Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Edge
- Upload speed of at least 3.0 Mbps
Mac
- Operating system: OS X 10.7 or higher
- Memory: At least 1 GB of total RAM and 600MB of available RAM.
- Free disk space: At least 7 GB of free disk space.
- Browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari
- Upload speed of at least 3.0 Mbps
Installing the UserTesting Browser Recorder
You may be prompted to install the Browser Recorder when accepting a test on your dashboard.
If you have not been prompted to install this extension yet, you can also install by clicking here.
You will be redirected to the Chrome web store to add the extension. Follow the prompts to add the extension.
- Click “Add to Chrome”
- Click “Add extension”
You’ll know the extension has been added once you see the blue button change to “Remove from Chrome”.
Return to your UserTesting dashboard once you have installed the extension.
Uninstalling the UserTesting Browser Recorder
To uninstall the UserTesting Browser Recorder, navigate to chrome://extensions in your Google Chrome browser.
Click the "Remove" button on the UserTesting Browser Recorder tile.
Confirm by clicking "Remove" again.
You should see the UserTesting Browser Recorder disappear from your list of extensions.
