On July 9, 2019, Zoom issued a notification regarding certain webcam vulnerabilities when using their video conferencing software. You can read more about this directly on Zoom’s blog. If you’ve ever completed a live interview session (via Live Conversation), this runs on Zoom. We wanted to share the steps testers should take to ensure security.

Q: How do you know if you are running the latest version?
A: When Zoom is open, navigate to zoom.us > About Zoom in the top left of your screen. You should be on version 4.4.4.
Q: How can you adjust your default webcam settings for when you enter a Zoom meeting?
A: Navigate to zoom.us > Preferences in the top left of your screen. Click on the “Video” tab in the left-hand column, and check the box next to “Turn off my video when joining a meeting”.
